Cessna is one of the largest general aviation aircraft manufacturers in the world. It is often considered to be one of the “Big Three” of general aviation manufacturers, alongside Beechcraft, which is owned by the same parent company as Cessna, Textron, and Piper. The company was founded in 1927 by Clyde Cessna and Victor Roos as Cessna-Roos Aircraft Company. However, Roose left the company after just one month, and the company was renamed to Cessna Aircraft Corporation.
