Boeing Awarded $451 Million US Air Force Contract For Japan F-15J Upgrades

The United States Department of Defense announced on 10 December 2024 that Boeing had been awarded a nearly half-billion-dollar contract to upgrade dozens of Japan’s F-15J fighter jets. As expected, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (with Boeing support) will carry out the upgrade work locally in Japan. Japan operates license built F-15s and F-16s – although there are some things that set them apart from their American counterparts.
