On Tuesday, China Airlines, the national carrier of Taiwan, opened a new service between Melbourne and Auckland, offering travelers a seamless one-stop connection between Taiwan and New Zealand via Melbourne. China Airlines currently operates five weekly return services between Taipei and Melbourne with other services to Sydney and Brisbane.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified a new A350-900 engine variant. The aircraft type, which exclusively uses the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84, now has an Enhanced Performance (EP) variant. Airbus states that this Enhanced Performance capability is set to deliver one percent lower fuel consumption, which will provide airlines with a reduction in operating costs and emissions.
