NASA And General Electric Team Up To Study Contrails

On Friday, November 15th, General Electric Aerospace and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced a new partnership to study the aviation industry. This partnership will assist the aviation industry in understanding the effects of contrails on climate change. This new project is called the Contrail Optical Depth Experiment (CODEX), with flight test flights launching on Monday, November 18th. The flight testing for this program will include the General Electric flying testbed, a Boeing 747-400, and the NASA Langley Research Center’s research aircraft, a modified Gulfstream GIII business jet (C-20B).
