Still active today with Hawaiian Airlines and Delta Air Lines, the Boeing 717 was initially marketed by McDonnell Douglas in the early 1990s as the MD-95. Aimed at the 100-seat aircraft market, the narrowbody twin-engine aircraft was essentially a shortened version of the successful McDonnell Douglas MD-80.
