Satellite Images Show China Is Making Its Newest Aircraft Carriers Nuclear-Powered

As expected, China appears to be working to develop a nuclear reactor to power future aircraft carriers. Satellite images show that China has built a land-based prototype nuclear reactor for a large surface warship (assumed to be an aircraft carrier). China is fast building a fleet of aircraft carriers – its massive and first indigenously designed aircraft carrier – the conventionally powered Type 003 Fujian- currently undergoing sea trials. Concurrently, China is known to be working on developing a new generation fleet of carrier-based fighter jets for its growing number of flat tops.
