Boeing has more than 7,700 orders for its 737 in backlog, and with the production of the single-aisle jet in limbo, the chances of getting a new aircraft anytime soon are, at best, remote. With demand still at high levels, the pressure is on airlines to get more aircraft in the air, so for many, that means leasing aircraft that are not configured the same as their main fleet, which can cause issues for customers.
