Australia Cancels Lockheed Martin Military GEO Satellite In Favor Of Multi-Orbit Capabilities

Australia has decided not to proceed with the planned procurement of a Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellite (which Lockheed Martin Australia would have built). This comes amid a rapidly changing space domain facing new and emerging threats as well as the rapid development of new technologies. Australia, the UK, and the US are working to deepen their cooperation in the space domain, with the US moving to remove the red tape – especially for these favored allies.
