On October 15, 2024, American defense and aerospace manufacturer Lockheed Martin was awarded a contract to upgrade the United States Army fleet of Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopters. The upgrade will modernize the attack helicopter by giving it a third-generation AN/APR-48B Modernized Radar Frequency Interferometer (MRFI).
