Sanction Work-Around: Russia Could Fix Shortage Of Airbus & Boeing Planes With Domestic Cabotage Scheme

Russia has reportedly initiated negotiations with Kazakhstan to allow its airlines to fly domestically within Russian airspace. This would in theory provide the country access to more modern aircraft if the agreement includes Kazakhstans largest airline, Air Astana. The company operates a fleet of Western-built aircraft, including Airbus A320neos and Boeing 767s. The carrier is also expecting to take delivery of six Boeing 787 planes, with the first example to arrive next year.
