In 2023 Vietnam's largest private carrier, Vietjet, used its fleet of leased widebody Airbus A330-300s to great effect as it pioneered new services between Vietnam and Australia, opening routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane and adding more frequencies throughout the year. It also opened a new route to Perth and Adelaide that operates with an Airbus A321neo.
