On Wednesday, October 2nd, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) revealed that it officially activated its Humanitarian Emergency Response Operator (HERO) database. This database consists of volunteers within NBAA that own or operate their own aircraft and have the availability of airplanes or personnel to assist with providing humanitarian aid. This activation comes just days after Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Southeastern United States and left a trail of devastation across several states in the US. These states include Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, among others.
