The Consolidated B-24 Liberator is a strategic heavy bomber designed and developed by Consolidated Aircraft of San Diego, California. In the late 1930s, work began on the design of the aircraft. The aircraft performed its first flight in December 1939 and was introduced to the US Forces in 1941.
