Pan Am was the first to conquer the transatlantic commercial passenger route in the run-up to World War Two with its legendary Boeing B-314 Clippers. There is so much to know about these giant Boeing B-314 Clippers – the massive long-haul flying boats of its time. 12 of these clippers were built – nine of which were operated by Pan Am. It was the trailblazing B-314 named Yankee Clipper that would lead the charge to offer the first non-stop transatlantic passenger service.

On June 10th, a Boeing 737-800 belonging to a Lithuanian charter airline experienced some minor damage when it suddenly tipped backward as passengers were deplaning and cargo was being unloaded. No injuries were reported and the aircraft appears to have been flown to a maintenance facility. This isn’t the first time we’ve covered this type of occurrence but it certainly is a rarity.
