In interviews with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), a Boeing mechanic told investigators that they were on vacation while the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9s door plug was being repaired at the assembly line in Renton, Washington. The mechanic also told the NTSB that they were the only one who was able to work on all doors on the 737 MAX 9.
