38 coal cars derail near Marshalltown, Iowa

Crews were called to a train derailment early Sunday evening in Marshall County. 

The Marshall County sheriff tells Iowa’s News Now that 38 coal cars jumped the tracked two miles east of Marshalltown around 5:30 p.m.

Nobody was hurt in the derailment and cleanup is underway,

Authorities say they are now investigating what may have caused the train to derail.
