Your eyes did not deceive you. On August 1, Ava Airlines used its recently delivered Airbus A310-300 from Tehran Imam Khomeini to Istanbul Airport. You might not have heard of Ava before, but the Iranian carrier is believed to have started operations in February 2024. According to ch-aviation, it has two Boeing 737-500s, one MD-83, and one A310-300, resulting from Irans sanctions. It now runs daily between Tehran and Istanbul, one of many carriers to do so.
