AirAsia Expands Airbus A320 Nonstop Routes To India

In the midst of major corporate change AirAsia has found time to launch two more routes from Kuala Lumpur to India.

All of its A320s will have 36 business seats, and the carrier’s Head of Network Planning says some routes warrant even more.

All destinations served by Condor’s upcoming Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft will be in some of the most popular leisure destinations in Europe.

While EASA has issued its final airworthiness directive, the FAA is yet to do so, despite publishing an NPRM in October 2023.

Cebu Pacific has already added four aircraft this year, the most recent of which was an Airbus A320neo that arrived from China last week.

The first inbound flight took a huge 7h 38m.

The news comes as the airline is reducing its capacity with deferred deliveries and the accelerated removals and inspections of the PW1100G engines.

Spirit Airlines continues shoring up its liquidity, with the agreement signed shortly after its deal with Pratt & Whitney.

Depending on the severity, ground damage incidents can cost airlines as much as $100,000.

A new directive by the FAA has added more engine parts to be inspected by PW1100G operators, resulting in potential further disruption.
