Alstom has revealed that it has signed an agreement with VIA Rail Canada, under which it will design, engineer, manufacture and support a new Long Distance, Regional and Remote (LDRR) fleet.
The base order covers at least 69 electric and battery-electric multiple units, with options for up to 37 more. Entry into service is planned for the early 2030s.
