An old railway corridor in northern NSW is set to be turned into a multimillion-dollar bike and walking path to attract high-spending tourists amid furious debate across regional NSW over what to do with disused railway lines.
Last year, Qantas and budget offshoot Jetstar committed to basing 15 domestic aircraft at the $5.3 billion airport within a year of its opening, which will fly to destinations such as Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Phrases including ‘alight here’ and ‘terminate’ frequently heard on Sydney trains via the pre-recorded notices will be gradually swapped out for more ‘casual’ and ‘colloquial’ words.
