This week, Alaska Airlines announced its second-quarter results and doubled down on its strategy to focus on premium customers, adding 1.3 million premium seats annually to its 737s. Despite posting record quarterly revenue, the results are pretty bland, with low single-digit revenue growth and a 15% decline in net income compared to the same period in 2023.
