In many ways Emirates has become a bellwether for commercial aviation in Australia, taking over the mantle once unquestionably held by Qantas before the Middle Eastern mega carrier arrived with its shiny new Airbus A380s. Post-Covid recovery in the country can be mapped to the return of Emirates flights, which is why today's announcement that Emirates is resuming flights to Adelaide has been so warmly welcomed.
