Telekom Malaysia lands US$265m deal to run next-gen 999 system

Thai operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) has denied reports that it is in the running to acquire the broadband subscriber base of state-owned National Telecom (NT).

The GSMA has elected MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita as its deputy chair, following the appointment of Bharti Airtel vice chairman Gopal Vittal as chair.

Indian operator Bharti Airtel paid INR84.65 billion (US$1 billion) towards its debt for spectrum acquired in the 2016 auction, weeks after the supreme court threw out operator pleas to readjust their dues.
