NASIC – Air Force UFO Crash Retrieval & Reverse Engineering

An exploration of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the Air Force’s primary intelligence center for scientific and technical analysis (S&TI) of foreign air, space, and missile threats, and vanguard of the National Foreign Materiel Program (FMP).

NASIC’s inception can be traced back all the way to World War One with the “Foreign Data Section”, an intelligence operation at McCook Field tasked with exploitation and reverse engineering of advanced European airframes.

From World War 2 into the Cold War, NASIC’s name and cognizant authority shifted on myriad occasions, but its core mission never did – exploitation of foreign adversary air and space technology through GEOINT, MASINT, and TECHINT.

Many know NASIC by reputation, even if they have never heard of NASIC by name. During the Cold War, NASIC, then known as the Air Technical Intelligence Center onto the Foreign Technology Division, NASIC conducted the Air Force’s official investigations into UFOs – Projects Sign, Grudge, and Blue Book.

Thus, alongside foreign materiel exploitation, for nearly 80 years the study of UFOs has fallen within NASIC’s mission scope.

Therefore, it should be no surprise that alongside its acknowledged UFO mission, claims, testimonies, and stories have swirled for decades of NASIC and its precursors playing a paramount role in UFO crash retrieval and reverse engineering programs….

From analyzing NASIC’s mission and anatomy to carefully investigating the statements of David Grusch, to visiting the files of Leanoard Stringfield, to studying the on and “off-books” National Foreign Materiel Program, to carefully identifying key milestones within NASIC’s precursors, this project seeks to define NASIC’s role within the UFO crash retrieval and reverse engineering ecosystem.
