Leasing companies have become the largest ownership group in the European freight wagon fleet, holding 42% of wagons compared with 40% for former state railways. SCI Verkehr meanwhile expects the global freight wagon market to grow by an average of 2.7% annually to EUR 35.8 billion by 2030.
