Figueres-Perpignan freight rail with a second monthly record, over 230 trains in July

Rising security risks in the Middle East are affecting maritime logistics, prompting new restrictions on cargo shipments via southern European ports.

The services position Liège as an origin and destination point for rail flows between Wallonia and Southern and Eastern Europe.

The trial ran from 29 June to 13 July 2026 and tested a regional freight service covering the full supply chain from loading to delivery.
