RCG: new EU waste code rules hit rail freight

CargoBeamer is increasing its Calais–Perpignan service to six weekly roundtrips from June 2026, with daily departures from Monday to Saturday.

Operations began in March with high-volume rail transport of finished vehicles from the Hungarian plant.

European rail associations are calling for stronger EU coordination of ERTMS deployment, warning that fragmentation and slow rollout continue to hold the system back.
