Most people know Gene Roddenberry as the creator of Star Trek – a visionary who imagined humanity exploring the galaxy and encountering alien civilizations.
But very few people know that in the 1970s, Roddenberry became involved in a series of real-life psychic experiments attempting to communicate with a mysterious group of entities known only as “The Nine.”
These sessions, conducted with psychic medium Phyllis Schlemmer and Parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, produced dozens of hours of recorded conversations with something claiming to represent a group of ancient intelligences connected to the origins of humanity.
Roddenberry attended several of these session – and the experience inspired a script he later wrote about the phenomenon.
