The US-African market is huge. According to booking data, around 14,000 roundtrip passengers traveled daily in 2023. About 11,000 people transferred at a hub in the US, Europe, the Middle East, or Africa. About eight in ten passengers had to connect; it is clearly underserved for many reasons. A European airline, which unusually has a same-plane, same-flight-number, one-stop service, is capitalizing on an opportunity.
