Bosnian railways lose 60% of freight volumes after operational problems of its biggest customer

ÖBB says Deutsche Bahn works near Regensburg will affect Austrian long-distance, regional and freight traffic from June to December 2026.

Green Cargo improved its financial performance in the first half of 2026 despite a 3% decline in transport volumes. Freight demand stabilised in Q2, while new contracts strengthened flows for the forest, steel and intermodal sectors.

The company described the project as a shift of volumes previously moved by other transport modes to rail.
