Stockland is expanding its portfolio into data centres, with a major project secured in Laverton North, Victoria.
As of February 2026, Stockland has officially entered the data centre market, securing 350MW of power for future development at its industrial site located at 72–76 Cherry Lane, Laverton North.
Project Overview
- Location: 72–76 Cherry Lane, Laverton North, VIC 3026.
- Capacity: Part of a combined 350MW power allocation across two Melbourne western suburb sites (Laverton North and Brooklyn).
- Strategy: The company intends to develop these facilities and potentially sell them to institutional investors in the future
Regional Context
Laverton North is becoming a major hub for digital infrastructure. In addition to Stockland’s plans, several other significant data centre projects are currently active in the immediate area:
- CDC (Canberra Data Centres): Developing a massive $2.7 billion, 150MW campus at 20-38 Leakes Road. Construction on this facility began in February 2025 and is “rising fast” as of late 2025.
- AirTrunk (MEL1): An established campus in the region expanding to deliver over 100MW of new IT load.
- Vantage & NEXTDC: Both have significant holdings and active developments in nearby western suburbs like Truganina and West Footscray.
