Rail freight is handling substantial construction-material flows for two UK nuclear projects, with Heavy Haul Rail beginning direct aggregate deliveries to Sizewell C in Suffolk as Direct Rail Services completes a 330,000-tonne programme in Cumbria.
The working visit was intended to improve coordination with regional and Chinese partners on international freight movements, as ASEAN–China rail freight volumes depend on multiple national networks and interfaces rather than a single operator.
