Middle Corridor: Georgian and Azerbaijani railways launch regular Poti–Baku block train

The intermodal service operates three weekly round trips with P400 profile capacity and a gross train weight of 1,700 tonnes.

Rohrdorfer and ÖBB Rail Cargo Group are moving weekly Fluasit shipments from Gmunden to the Brenner Base Tunnel site. The rail programme is expected to replace around 1,480 truck journeys by 2029.

Czech rail freight volumes increased by 3.2% in 2025, but transport performance fell to its lowest level in six years. Passenger rail recorded only modest growth, although journeys became longer on average.
