Airlines Face Pressure To Ban Power Banks After Multiple In-Flight Fires

Onboard a T’way flight on Saturday, operating from China to South Korea, smoke began emanating from a power bank carried onboard by a passenger. While the crew members were quick to respond and secure the smoking device within a tub of water in a safe space inside the aircraft, some of the passengers and crew members were exposed to the smoke and needed medical attention after landing at the destination.
