Airlines, by nature, are extremely low-margin businesses and often return razor-thin profit margins that can disappear during times of diminished passenger demand or exceptionally high fuel prices. During the pandemic, the commercial aviation industry, more than any other, struggled greatly on account of a near-complete elimination of passenger demand.
