Zimbabwe’s Econet InfraCo announces industrial park plans

Brazilian investment firm Patria Investimentos has announced the launch of Omnia, a hyperscale data centre platform that will invest about US$1 billion in its first project in the next 18 to 24 months.

Operator MTN Nigeria is widely reported in the African press to be building a 1,500-rack Tier IV data centre in Lagos, which would make it West Africa’s largest data centre.

Digital infrastructure company Equinix announced on Tuesday it will invest around US$500 million in phases over the next ten years to cash in on Thailand’s bustling data centre scene, starting with two new IBX data centres in Bangkok.
