Ericsson announced on Monday it has inaugurated its new office in Lusaka, Zambia, which it said marks a significant step towards not only enhancing its local and regional presence, but also supporting Zambia’s digital transformation ambitions.
Nokia announced it partnered with Indian optical and digital solutions company STL to develop enterprise and government-focused connectivity solutions.
Ericsson Vice President Todd Ashton (pictured) believes the spread of 4G across Africa will help create unicorn companies, drawing parallels with Asia, where countries like Indonesia developed such firms through increased connectivity.
