US Airways began operations in 1937 and merged with American Airlines in 2015. Founded as a mail delivery air carrier service in Pittsburg, US Airways was one of the largest carriers in the United States. Throughout its 76-year history of commercial flight operations, US Airways saw all the highs and lows of the aviation industry.
