Wingu Africa and Africa Data Centres agree to connect networks

iXAfrica Data Centres unveiled the first phase of its NBOX1 hyperscale data centre in Nairobi on Wednesday, and has also signed a deal with Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP) to establish a peering PoP at the facility.

Ciena said on Wednesday that digital infrastructure and technology provider Cirion Technologies will deploy its solutions on subsea and terrestrial cable routes to enable its Latin American data centres to support growing demand for cloud and AI.

Nairobi-based IXAfrica Data Centres and Schneider Electric have launched what they say is the first AI-ready hyperscale data centre in Kenya, and the largest such data centre in all of East Africa.
