Three Indonesian players cleared to bid for 1.4 GHz spectrum

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published what it calles the Draft Radio Frequency Migration Plan (Draft RFMP) and the Draft International Mobile Telecommunication Roadmap (Draft IMTR) for public consultation.

As expected, Mexico has gone ahead with plans to abolish a number of regulatory bodies, including telecoms watchdog the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT). However, it hasn’t been the wholesale clear-out some commentators feared.

Not surprisingly perhaps, the pace of technological change is forcing governments to move quickly – or to try to move quickly – to keep up, as indicated by recent news from India.
