Rakuten Symphony, Grameenphone to pilot Open RAN in Bangladesh

Rakuten Symphony has announced a collaboration with Bangladeshi operator Grameenphone to build an Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN), making it one of the first pilots of the technology in South Asia.

Cassava Technologies’ African tech business Liquid Intelligent Technologies announced on Wednesday it has upgraded its 1,300-km fibre route in Kenya that connects the coastal city of Mombasa to Busia on the Ugandan border.

Liberia is the latest African country to be hit with internet service disruptions, which the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has attributed to a cut in the ACE (Africa Coast to Europe) subsea cable.
