Mobiuz and ZTE complete initial network upgrades in Uzbekistan

Globe Telecom hailed milestones in building 276 new cell sites and upgraded 2,509 sites to 4G LTE in the Philippines island of Mindanao in 2023, as part of its strategy to connect new subscribers for growth ambitions. 

South African telco Vodacom said on Thursday it will invest around ZAR100 million (US$5.5 million) to build 106 new base station sites in deep rural areas of KwaZulu Natal, which will bring connectivity to hundreds of thousands of people in those areas.

Colombian operator WOM has secured approval for a proposed US$800 million reorganisation, staving off a potential bankruptcy. It now plans to continue developing 5G services and strengthening its operations in the country.
