The Last Commercial Lockheed Aircraft In America Still Airworthy

Lockheed was once one of the major commercial and military transport aircraft manufacturers. Perhaps the most iconic commercial aircraft it made was the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. While the aircraft was a financial disappointment for Lockheed, it was one of the great aircraft of the era. It is a reminder of a time before the world was dominated by the current Boeing/Airbus duopoly. Other airlines either abandoned the market or were absorbed by Boeing and Airbus, and today, only Boeing and Airbus make widebody airliners.
