The Airbus A340, including the largest version of the quad-engine jet, the A340-600, has become one of the backbones ofLufthansa'slong-haul fleet. The aircraft, much like the airline's other widebodies, are based at either Frankfurt Airport (FRA) or Munich Airport (MUC), Lufthansa's main and only hubs in Germany.
