Earlier this month, Lufthansa Cargo revealed it plans to market belly capacity on ITA Airways routes in a major expansion of its freighter network. Starting next month, the cargo division of Lufthansa Group will be offering capacity under its own code on select ITA routes out of its Rome Fiumicino (FCO) hub, namely to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The integration will enhance Lufthansa Cargo’s coverage in Southern Europe and help it enhance its presence at ITA’s Rome hub, adding considerable belly cargo capacity to its pool of available freight space.
