Jet engines work on the principles of compression of incoming air, combustion, and expansion of hot gasses. Large amounts of air are sucked into the low-pressure (LP) compressor by the fan. As the air velocity decreases, the pressure and temperature of the air increases. The air passes through various stages of the compressor before entering the combustion chamber. The air is mixed with atomized fuel before combustion.
