Dutch software company RailCube is looking to expand in North America after its acquisition of Spark TS and the creation of RailCube North America Inc. The company is now in talks with multiple American railway companies, including Class I and Shortline railroads.
The recent moves with Spark TS and RailCube North America gives the company a direct presence in North America, allowing U.S. railroads to contract without going through Europe. “Having a U.S. entity makes it easier for American operators to work with us,” Jakob Borsdorf, Head of Sales at RailCube, said.
Talks with Class I and shortline operators
RailCube is in active discussions with several Class I and Class II freight railroads, as well as holding companies that own several shortline railroads. Some are existing Spark TS clients, while others are newly engaged since the acquisition. Though company names remain under wraps, RailCube expects formal contracts to follow soon, Borsdorf explained.
Tailored platform
To support the rollout, RailCube has adapted its platform for North American terminology, compliance, and operational workflows. “The system is fully ready for deployment in both the U.S. and Canada,” Borsdorf said. RailCube sees strong potential in a market where many operators still rely on outdated systems. With its modular platform the company aims to provide a modern, efficient and digital alternative.
