The Polish national rail freight operator PKP Cargo is currently undergoing restructuring. That means far-reaching measures to improve the company’s business health. As part of those measures, PKP Cargo is now looking to leave Sławków and Medyka terminals by selling its shares.
PKP Cargo is looking to sell its shares in the company Terminale Przeładunkowe Sławków–Medyka as well as Euroterminal Sławków. The company’s subsidiary, PKP Cargo Connect, holds 21,407 shares in Sławków–Medyka, representing 50% of its capital, with a nominal value of 21,407 million złoty (five million euros).
As for the Euroterminal Sławków, PKP Cargo currently owns a 9.31% stake there, with a value of 17 million złoty (4 million euros). The rail operator’s management board has already approved preparatory actions for the sale.

Simplification
“The above undertaking [sale of shares] is an element of broader actions of the Issuer’s Management Board aimed at optimising the structure of the Capital Group and its resources in terms of current activities and business challenges, primarily its simplification, which will allow for effective handling of complex transport projects”, an announcement by PKP Cargo says.
PKP Cargo, Poland’s largest and state-owned rail freight operator, maintains a broad network of terminal assets across the country, with both full and partial ownership stakes. Key facilities include fully owned terminals in Małaszewicze, Medyka-Żurawica, Zduńska Wola–Karsznice, Poznań-Franowo, and intermodal hubs in Gliwice, Kobylnica, Mława, and Warsaw.
