New trains enter service for Sunderland passengers

The Sunderland line of the Tyne & Wear Metro entered a new era this morning, 18 February, when a new Metro train entered regular passenger service.

Now that new trains are running on the Tyne & Wear Metro, Nexus has outlined how the rest of the fleet of trains will be brought into service.

The first daytime test trains began running on the Metro this week in the gaps between scheduled services.
