OADC to invest US$240m to expand Lagos data centre to 24MW

ArtificiaI intelligence (AI)-ready data centres are in the news this week, with Malaysia and Indonesia playing host to new or planned facilities.

MainOne, Solutions by Equinix, which provides connectivity and data centre solutions in West Africa, said on Tuesday it has acquired and lit up capacity on the Equiano subsea cable to add more redundancy to its services.

PLDT Group’s data centre arm Vitro inaugurated its 11th data centre – and the first to support AI and other hyperscale workloads – on Wednesday as it starts work on an even bigger hyperscale data centre with twice as much IT load capacity.
